I can get my hands on a rebuilt Buick Dauntless 350 and since I'm experiencing some rod knock lately this seems like a very attractive opportunity.. But will it fit my TH400 bell? Can't find a decent answer on the web anywhere. Perhaps anyone here has an idea?

No, won't fit. The transmission bell pattern is different. The engine mounts are different.
You have the TH400 with the AMC case. You need the TH400 with the Buick-Olds-Pontiac (BOP) pattern, or the original style Jeep used, which is the universal case (nailhead Buick type) with a ring adapter. And then the mounts are different, radiator, wiring, etc. Easier/faster/cheaper to fix the 360.
