Flowkooler water pumps?

Post by dodgerammit »

Looking at this as a candidate for when I have the engine overhauled. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bra- ... can-motors

Anyone with experience? Gets good reviews. Along with a new thermal clutch, stop and go city stuff should be less of an issue. Not a big one now, but I do notice the gauge move quite a bit some days.

I will also be separating the transmission from the radiator and running some kind of remote cooler (possibly something like Derale) for it as that is a big issue with temps climbing on long mountain pulls.

Didn't really notice a big difference between that and a GMB aluminum, have run both.

Gotcha. Both appear to have satisfactory reviews from the AMC groups. My guess is A new fan clutch along with isolation of the Trans cooling function will be the biggest gains (loss) in engine temps.

I bypass the radiator trans cooler in all my vehicles. I live in Florida and dont need to worry about reaching temp. During normal driving, the trans' temp hovers around 160-180 and under heavy towing it has only crept uo to 200. I had an issue with my Ford Explorer [37" Boggers] boiling the trans fluid and the only fix was to bypass the radiator.

I put cast iron version of the FLowkooker in my Jeep. Works fine.
