Have calipers .disc pads. Stock Brake hoses modified to fit calipers . OK I put 25000 miles on JB6 Calipers with JB7 BRAKE PADS and noticed that the pads had odd ware marks like the pad was to big for the rotor . The question is what rotor do I need chevy or jeep or are they the same 6 lug rotor 1990GW
TY.I will be getting new rotors but would like to now what jb7 spec. rotors are . I have 6 lug . Just purchased all bearings and seals but need rotors this 1990 GW is all stock . I will be removing rotors today and see if I can get them turned . I think the uneven wear marks are because I removed jb6 pads and installed jb7 pads in jb6 calipers without turning rotors . TY GUYS FOR ALL THE HELP
TY I also run K30 stuff in my 1982 CHEROKEE DD I have JB7 in the rear . Dana 44 all apart and rotors are . OK I will get a chevy JB7 rotor with 13 inch drums in rear .

I could not find any chevy 6 lug JB7 spec rotors so I purchased 2 NAPA stock 1990 GW rotors 62.50 to the door with coupon code SOCIAL20 . I will give total cost for upgrade when I pickup ac delco disc pads .I LOVE CHASING CLASIC PARTS
JB7 was only for the 3/4 ton 8 lug. You can probably find some rotors that should work. I suspect that the rotor is bigger than a stock Wagoneer rotors. It would be a good idea to verify that.
You might look at newer Chevy 1500 trucks as brakes got bigger over the years and the 1500 stayed 6 lug.
TY Cecil that's the plan . And the edge groves are from the jb6 pads .What I did was install JD7 pads on rotors that where running JB6 pads and calipers . . What I did was put JB7 pads on JB6 rotors and calipers .I no. rotors are the same but where warn from a smaller pad so that gave me groves in large pads TY ALL
I put brakes together and I cannot spin rotor .Stock jeep GW rotor .jb7 caliper . Bendix mkd153fm pads .no fluid in system .Got the brake pads from a friend .
YES I put c clamp on piston . but I will try to compress again . I think the shoes I got for free is because the last person had the same problem they must be rejects . Cecil thanks and what brand shoes do like
I have had good luck with Wagner pads, but I wouldn't swear by them or anything. I like ceramics myself, as I don't like the corrosive dust from organic pads. There is some sacrifice in overall stopping power, though, I think.
I'd say have them pull a set at the store for you and measure them. You know the rotor thickness, and you can measure the caliper opening. Make sure the new pads are less than that difference. Even with new pads, you should have to pump the brakes a time or two to tighten the caliper the first time around.

A couple years ago I did a SAS on a Chevy Tahoe, Ford HP dana 44 with Jeep/Chevy 6 lug knuckles/hubs/rotors and had the same issue. I thinned the pads a little to make them fit. I sanded them down on a flat table with 40 grit paper--dont judge me!
I plan to replace my brake lines with braided and longer for a lift when I do this. Should I stick with GW lines or should I get something designed for the Chevy calipers? I understand from talking to derf that the GW will work with some shims, but since I'm replacing anyway should I use something else?

Have a parts store pull one of each (GW and 1985 Chevy K20 JB7) line for you and compare them. If they look like a match to you, go with the one from the Chevy.
