If it is on the driveshaft side it will have to be removed from the shaft and replaced. It is a welded and balanced assembly, not a cheap fix, but necessary. It is definitely damaged
The bus I ride is so short it is a yellow Smart Car full of squirrels, monkeys and clowns.
On a side note, I have delt with Denny's Driveshaft in the past.
They are a bit short...and definitely Yankees, but all in all knowledgeable and good people to work with.
You could probably send the drive shaft to them and have them perform the repair.

Its just a rubber boot i found out. I ordered the parts.. but im concerned about this cent yoke assembly it has a little spring inside. On some pictures it has a plastic cap. Is that needed ? Or no ? Because mine didnt come with it.. its a genuine dana spicer part.
Does anyone know if that plastic cap on the spring is needed or is that just like a dust cover for shipping ?
See this pic the plastic white cap ? Is that needed ?? The other pics dont have the cap on it so im confused

Gah damn the joint i ordered is too short. It seems mine uses a long shaft and the one i ordered in the pics above is a greasable shorter one.
211544X is the part number. Damn now i gatta wait more both Jeeps are down too cant drive anywhere lol.. what i dont understand is they both say they fit on charts.. and they both are for the 1310 drive shaft.. Im confused. Although it seems the gresable one is higher up sitting on thicker metal ? So i wonder if theyre actually the sane height for the joint itself. Maybe its like that for the grease fitting. Ill have to take it apart and measure. Hopefully the greasable one will work.. i hate returning and reordering parts. And tbh id rather have a grease point that non servicable
Not all manufacturers parts are interchangeable on the center bushing parts and manufacturers have generations that aren’t interchangeable as well. Ujoints are a constant 1310 with outside clips is a 1310.

Well it turns out it will work.. The actualy frame of the joint is thicker for the grease fitting and (reservoir i guess) and thus it make the joint itself the same height as the original without the grease fitting. Thank god lol.
I will argue the old part seems still good.. Its got tention to it and feels smooth and greased up still.. but ill keep it as a spare and put the new one in.
Thats an odd grease end though any idea what attachment end is that i need for that ? And i assume i wont really need to fill it up anyway as its pre greased

Thamks. I noticed my old u joints had those fittings on the ends of the cups too as i took them off.
Anyway i got all 3 new u joints. And that cv joint in. Drives good.. no more horrible screeching noise. Frustrating part was getting the joints on without a needle bearing falling inside itself, Which happened like 5 times..
And man this is the first time ive worked on my Jeep in my houses workshop. I have 14 acres now and a 100x50 foot barn with a workshop... Has power. 120-240 55A and 25A outlets.. ceiling fans.. woodstove.. slab with drain.. sink with water.. and solid oak workbenchs.. Its 70 years old but ill take it !!. The last 5-6 years ive been working on this wagoneer and 14 years for others cars... in a townhouse parking spot.. in the heat.. snow. Rain.. sunburns. cutting welding.. no workbench.. no vice.. nothing..
Uumhhg you dont know how good it felt to have that workbench.. and a vice.. something stupid to some people but a god send to me... to actually be able hold things now lol
