idle tube assembly

Post by marc »

Question, is the idle tube assembly on a BBD 8340 the same as that of a 8384? I have an 8384 I use for parts and a teaching aid. I need to pull the tubes out of the BBD in my J10 and clean them. Thought I would switch them. I bored out each to .032 but I did see one video that bored them out to .037? How has that worked for others?
Thanks and Happy New Year Marc

It's probably not a service part on its own. If it is, it will be shown in the exploded drawings in the factory parts book. Take a look at the 81J or later book at the Tom Collins site. I expect you would need to have the two carburetors side by side and compare what's there.
