That'd be a question we should have asked, before buying it I reckon.

One way or another, I pull the boat, she pulls the camper. No big deal.

Gonna go grab her hand and some chairs with some coffee and have that conversation you'd mentioned. My plan for the evening while it rains on all my stuff.

See.....she brought home a Wagoneer for each of you, now a boat, and you had the camper.

Look at you all just playin' with your toys!

Be happy, she did good :)

We are thinking the light brown (limited) first.

It seems mechanically, more suited for what we want to use it for and we are thinking the other one will be our nicer cleaned up "show" to be a town car for date nights and the like.

At least that was the plan last night, who knows what tomorrow brings. If it keeps going the way it has, she is gonna show up a muscle car or something else.

OK, I'm impressed, she brought home the boat! We are on the third boat since we were married and finally one my wife lwants to travel on. I got one J10 and one boat and my hands are full.
J10 1984, very stock with AMC 258.
Truck appears to have been rebuilt or restored at one time

That's awesome marc, sounds like you did good yourself. Is there something I should know to explain why exactly you're on the 3rd boat? Should I be afraid?

My hands are full as well, we've got an aditi9n I'm getting together, the wagons, I also have an 05 honda shadow I'm doing some fab work to make a bit different and more within my tastes, the boat, the camper and a host. So, I totally get busy 😄

Looking forward to the adventure though, genuinely can't wait to see where it all goes. I consider myself quite blessed.

How goes the adventure there?

Such a neat opportunity just fell in your lap, and interested to see how you put together your plan of attack, and updates as you go.

More pics of each rig would be nice to see too.

Well, it all hades broke loose here and I've gotta find myself a garage to park the Jeeps and get myself situated to really start working on them. Long story, but, I've got a plan, I've got help and I'm gonna get em going and they are going to be a piece of art.

Good to hear

And sometimes the "piece of art" has more value, than the pieces it's made of :)

Ummmm, well..... it's going to come as a shock, but, not wife anymore. She decided she wasn't happy, and that she wanted a different kind of partner. So, that's why the move of the Jeeps and such, so, having her in it isn't much of an option. Which, kind of explains all the toys and such. So, now I'm on my own and I suddenly have more time than I did before.

Ok....it happens. I am on my second myself!

Thought the wife bought and brought these home, so if not, then that suggestion is voided.

Awesome GF you have there :)

So come on people, the man needs help with naming his project and asking for suggestions!

Just me brother, me and my dog. Had a wife last week, I don't this week. Hence why she is no longer part of the deal. There was a host of things I was unaware of and so now I'm on my own. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I was thinking something like "the twins build" or maybe something like "little red wagon build"

I'm thinking in gonna lean heavily towards an overlanding type build. Something I can take out and be in comfortably but also still be able to make a daily ish as i have an actual daily driver. Maybe something like "the weekendeer build" something like that.

Oh bummer on the xxxxx.

I guess why she went on a project buying spree, so you would have lots of wrenching to remember her by :(

Onward and upward, time to make them all your own now. Just build slow, as she might want them all back, when the papers come through!

I like the idea of building it to run with the hiway pack easily, but capable and comfortable on light to medium trails.

That is what I am doing with mine too, to pull the camper and weekend getaways mostly, as I have a 2007 Dakota 2wd for long hiway trips.

Chin up, we will help you through this time :)

Papers are done, she had it all laid out and sorted. She let me keep everything I wanted for the most part. Guns, safe, ammo, whole nine, both Jeeps, trailer, tools all of it. She has been extremely amicable. In all of it.

I did let her keep the house and all that. It's paid for and it'll be easier for her to manage by herself that way. I'm a simple man, I could live out if a box haha

All in all, I'm more comfortable knowing she isn't stuck in an unhappy marriage hiding the fact she didn't want a man in her life and she just told me. A little hurt is better than a lifetime of it. So, on that front, even painful, I'm at peace with it and so is she, that's what matters.

I'm definitely thinking a smaller tire now maybe 31s, 33s? I'll get all that sorted once I get it running, I tried starting it the other day and the backfire it gave me scared the poop out of me. It was the loudest I'd ever heard, so I've got to get that figured out and I really need to sort out the wiring and get things back to where they are supposed to go. Once I do that, I'll try to get it running again and from there it'll be a lot of finageling.

I'm really diggin the name "weekendeer" pretty apropos for what it's job will be.

Yep, I see all the rigs with big tires and lifted to the sky, then gas mileage and torque suffers, not to mention the stress on everything from engine to the axles.

Mine came with a 4" higher arch springs and 31x10.5x15 tires, and 360 swapped out for a 401 in it now with 2000 miles on it......so I am told!

I will stay with the springs and 401 but going to put stock size All Season radials back on it.

Size calls for P 225/75 R 15, but might get froggy and go up to a 235, but for sure in an LT load range.

At worst, will replace the 31's with 31's, but no bigger than that.

Better for towing, keeping up with traffic when pulling mountain hiways.

The tires it came with are absolutely gone, from baking in AZ desert heat sitting 18 years on dirt lot, as the stock size will keep my pulling power and gas mileage more reasonable.....I think anyway!

Check this one I had to change so we could load it on the trailer. Yes, that is some of the headliner fabric hanging down, but that tire is absolutely cooked

Dang! Yea, I'll probably stick with 31s to help my clearance on the trail. I plan on keeping a large majority of it stock for the most part but there will be a few things that need to be done. We will see on what those are gonna be.

Step.one, get it running. Go from there.

And that tire is definitely well done.

Have a second one, all cracked & broken but still held air, for about 2 weeks sitting in the driveway.

Huge crack from the bead to the tread, near cooked as bad as the one I had to change just to load the truck, then one day the truck looked different looking at it out the window........the other one went flat!

UGH.......no $$'s for tires right now, so jacked it up and put one of my small jack stands under it, so it looked like it still had air!

As said, get it running first :)

It'll be interesting to watch these progress. It looks to me like they're both good candidates.
