Front sway bar question

Post by Horsman »

Removed my sway bar to replace the link bushings. How does this end come apart, they seem stuck?

Should just have to remove the nut. Good chance it will be rust welded inside the sleeve. So after the nut is removed, you may have to hammer it out.

Nut was removed almost to the end of the mounting stud, I took a large hammer to it with the sway bar on a block of wood. Thought I was going to destroy something. Soaking in PB blaster, will try again tomorrow with a bigger hammer. Thanks for replying.

You can try a puller if you have it too.

That piece is a tapered fit inside the bar [like a tie rod end]. Tap it with a hammer from the nut side or use a Fork.

After soaking in PB blaster overnight and adding a little heat was able to pop them out today. Thanks for all the suggestions.
