I'm helping a guy out putting his J4000 back together and I'm having trouble with the wiper motor. I have a new one but it didn't come with the unit bolted to the back of the old one. I'm assuming it has something to do with a delay mechanism, but I just don't understand how it works. I haven't been able to find any mention of it anywhere online to try and at least understand what its for and how it works. I may never get it working though because the plastic wheel is broken apart(I glued it together with super glue for now, I know it wont hold). I'll attach some pictures of what I'm referring to.
Aside from that rambling, I basically need a wiring diagram for the wiper motor.
And if anyone has information about the module on the back of the motor
If you know where the vacuum lines are supposed to be run to, where the wires on the solenoid go to.

The plastic part is the cam drive for the wiper-washer. It's shown in the '72 TSM which you can purchase for about $25 on CD-ROM from RockAuto. It's probably the same as in '74, and the '74 TSM is free to read and download here - https://oljeep.com/edge_74_tsm.html
Likely you will have to find a used replacement for the washer parts. Possibly someone could make a replacement by 3D printing, though they would need an intact part to copy. There is a factory parts book for that truck on the site I linked above: '62-73 J-series. If new/NOS repair parts exist, they would be listed online under the Jeep part numbers you will find in the book. Listings from aftermarket sellers without Jeep part numbers will likely have the wrong year/model for any given part. The factory parts book will help you.
Another possibility is to eliminate the washer parts on the motor and substitute a generic washer motor and bottle, activated by the existing push button on the wiper switch.

These trucks are oddballs and there is not a lot of parts support, aside from the running gear parts that are used on other cars and trucks. Stuff like this is going to be entirely supported by good used parts, if you can find them - I would presume.

I believe I have an original 72 TSM at the house. If so, I will take a look through it. I am about to head home from work in just a little bit. I will take a look when I get there. If you don't see a response from me today, just send me a message to remind me. I get a little distracted and ADD'd when I get home sometimes, by immediately starting on customer's projects. Because if I sit down on the couch and relax, then I probably won't get up.
Ok. The service manual I thought I had that was a 72 is not a 72. It looks to have more Kaiser stuff in I believe from looking through it real quick. And the wiper motor in it did not look exactly like that one. Sorry.

Hey thank you so much. I'm amused I didn't even think of the possibility that it was a washer fluid pump. I looked breifly through the parts catalog and couldn't find the little "Four Lobe Cam" referred to in the 74' TSM. Based on the fact that its a washer fluid pump, I'm thinking if he wants one, he'll just end up going with a generic pump. I will post back here if I decide to 3d print a cam though, I have 3d printer so it shouldn't be too difficult.

You can see that part in figure 17-14 of the '74 TSM. Looking at the '74-80 factory parts book (available for purchase but not free online) the cam is part of the wiper-washer drive gear kit, group 22.031-1, Jeep PN 941916. Seems '74 was the last year for that design motor. No picture, but it should be in the '62-73 book if you look at that group number.

Yes, that's likely how I'd handle it, unless I found a good used replacement.
