1972 Wagoneer: Gas Pedal

Post by W300 »

Hey All,

One of the ball sockets on the base of the gas pedal is broken, so it only attaches and pivots on one side, leaving it flopping all over the place. I've looked online for a replacement pedal that attaches like this, but have not found anything. What is typically used as a replacement pedal? I saw a suggestion to use a gate hinge to mount the old pedal to the floor, which I'm considering. The old pedal has the Jeep logo stamped in the middle, i'd prefer to keep it!

Thanks!

As I recall, those floor mounted pedals are hard to come by in good condition. CJs used them too, ca 1970. There are GM repop pedals that mount in a similar way https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Search?q ... or%20pedal - no Jeep logo though.

Jeep went to a suspended pedal for the CJ in 1972, and for the Wagoneer soon after, IIRC. Safety.

Later - 1972 was the last year for that pedal in a Wagoneer. The '73 has a suspended pedal.
