Distributor question

Post by B1314 »

Ive noticed that I don't have an ignition control box in my engine compartment, I have the connections for one but just there. I am wondering if someone has replaced the Distributor to one that has the coil and everything in the cap? I am also wondering if the jeep needs an ignition control box or what would happen if I hooked one up?
Thanks for all the help.

A previous owner converted your ignition to HEI. The ignition module was used for the stock duraspark setup. With an HEI the ignition module is inside the cap. So there is nothing to connect those OE connectors too.

I would leave the HEI in there if it performs properly as should. That one looks like a very early HEI dist.
Unless you are doing a restoration then will need the OEM Ctl box & Matching OEM distributor.
