1970 Wagoneer Transfer Case Mount?

Post by spjohnson1031 »

Hello all!

I have a 1970 Wagoneer with the Buick 350/TH400. I'm getting a lot of mixed information looking at catalogs in terms of which transfer case mounts I need (there are no transmission mounts to my knowledge). My first two pictures are the mounts as I can see them. One is longer and rectangular, and the other is cylindrical. Any suggestions on which mounts & part numbers I need? The 3rd picture is what I've ordered, can anyone tell me if it's the correct mount?

Thank you in advance!

Refer to the Jeep parts catalog and cross-over the Jeep PN. https://oljeep.com/edge_parts_man.html
'62-73 J-series.

For something this old and "unusual" as a Wagoneer, I would expect half the aftermarket listings to be wrong. Really, they are clueless.

I am more familiar with the early 80's models. Those models do not have a transfer case 'mount'. The transfer case is bolted to the back of the transmission but does not have a separate mounting point to the frame. The transmission does have a mount attached to a cross member.

The picture you provided looks like my transmission mount.
