88 GW heat inop

Post by Grand_Wag_85 »

Got an 88 GW and my heat is inop. If I wiggle the switches just right the AC fan will come on but I know they are two separate units. All fuses check out. What should I look for first?

Is it just the heater blower that is not working? You can check the voltage at the blower itself. If you arent getting any there, you can trace the lines back to the firewall bulkhead.

You can also check voltage at the switch itself, as well as at the fuses.

on the later style the heat selection lever has to be moved a tad from the left most (off) AC heat, may be the vacuum pod on the back of this control module is loose

this is the only pict I could find in a short time

Thank you Michel!

The cables are pretty frozen up on this one come to think of it. Gonna have to check for voltage and go from there.

Yes, same here, I disconnected the cable from the underhood flapper on top of the heater box, lubricated with PB blaster and pushed and pulled a few times
