Wag Driver's Side Taillight Lens

Post by sierrablue »

Alright, it's been long enough that they just make us passenger's side replacement lenses. I'm probably going to see about figuring out a 3D printing model. I was thinking I might try doing a cool custom pattern in it, like mountains, hockey sticks, RR crossing signs, something like that. It would be changeable, and I was figuring on making a pattern for the pass side too, so you can put a pattern on that side too.

Is there any interest here with my sharing the pattern? Should I be taking count of orders or anything? Just looking for how much interest there is around here. I don't want to hide it and keep the pattern to me and whoever helps me with it, but I also understand that a lot of people (especially the guys who work on 30+ year old Jeeps  ) don't have access to the technology and/or don't know how to use it.

Just hoping to help some, is all. This is just for the Wagoneers--they swapped the lens style in '84 when they added the "Grand".

Bjs has been promising the lens for the last 1.5 years. I saw a post just a few weeks ago that it was still "coming soon".

But ya, I'll be your first customer.

Sweet! Somebody else is interested.

Anybody else interested? Or was there some defect specifically with the '71 taillight lenses?

 Seems like you have some experience in the area. Based on your sig tho, don't you have an '88? Or do you have a different one that needs the lens?

Shoot...
I'd probably buy some just to hang on the wall and talk about! Great idea.
