So, I've got then situated enough to start working on them. I'm now trying to get it to at least run, but I think it is out of time, so going to get new wires, distributor and see if we can get her runnin this evening. Gonna find out soon.
Just too darn hot, and truck not going anywhere, so waiting for cooler weather.
Temps drop down more around 100* would be nice, but in the 90's even better.
Usually about another 6 weeks before that will happen :/
Keep us informed

Well, boys, I got it running. Kind of. There seems to be something wrong with the carb, it wouldn't let fuel in. So, off it came, to find out I have almost zero cleaners on hand so I've gotten get it cleaned up and then go from there. It's very likely it needs to be rebuilt but gonna see what I can do here and go from there.
I did find out that it has a weber 4 barrel with a spacer on it. I don't know exactly what any of that means, minus that I'm pretty sure it's not stock and allows for more air or something? YouTube here I come.
Kit came in, and I'm wrapping up some work on a job and then I'll be headed to get it all installed and see if we can get this baby running!
Also, found a set of wheels and tires basically brand new for 400 bucks! Pretty pumped about that. The saying, "it's who you know" comes to mind for sure.
Pretty excited about the next week or so, got a trip to the biggest gun show in America just around the corner, everything is going not so bad.
Maybe a little aluminum polish to brighten up the outside?

I want to make sure that it's all working right before I spend a ton of time on it. Okxe I have it in and running right, ill take the appropriate time to get it all cleaned up and do a full rebuild on it.
If running good, yes wait till you "need" to take it off again.
Good job getting it going

Yea, I'm not totally convinced everything is there to get the throttle stuff controlled, but, I'm going to slowly get it figured out. I've never worked with a carburetor set up so it'll be an adventure getting everything back to working condition and then..... it's wiring, my favorite bit haha
Okay! So I am back from my airshow trip and I've spend all day getting the jeep up to snuff, got tires put on it and I've been playing with the carb all day.
I got it to run. It sounds good, motor wise. Here's the thing. It will only start if I add fuel to the carb directly and it will only stay running if I idle it higher with the throttle. It's getting fuel but it will not idle.
I know next to nothing about carbs but I am convinced that's the culprit at this point. I could sit down and watch hours of youtube ( which I'll probably do anyway) or post it here and see if I can get some guidance.
Any advice is appreciated and any questions I can answer I will.
The Weber experts will be chiming in soon, but check all vacuum lines, to be sure they are in good shape.
Also check any base plates to be sure they are snug and carb is tight to the base.
Those mounting bolts can loosen over time.
Go around the carb, and check to be sure all screws are snugged up, but not too tight

I should probably mention, in my studies, I have learned the following.
1) both the carburetor and the and intake manifold are edelbrock. The carb (in my very small information) looks to be the 1411 edelbrock 750 cfm the intake manifold is unknown.
After many many hours of reading and looking and building a rebuilding and plenty of frustration. I bought a new carb. A guy had one local, edelbrock 1406 600 cfm, which I think will work better. I guess when he order it it was the wrong one and when he told them they said to keep it and they'd send him the right one. Brand new the guy sold it to me for 150 bucks. Pretty excited. Getting it put on tomorrow and gonna try firing her up.

Annnnnnd I'm back. With an update. Work has kept me insane busy, covered something like 3200 miles over a week and a half. Good stuff.
Project weekoneer, has been keeping my busy as well. Got the new carb put on, an edlebrock 1905. Got some of the electric put back together, still have a few wires I'm not sure what they go to, so that is on the agenda for sure. I pulled all of the interior and put in the seats from the donor wagon, had to do some fab work on the driver seat but it was an easy fix for the most part. Got plenty left to do but I'm so so close to making this thing road ready.
Ok.....is that door leaning up against the building......is that a replacement for one on the truck or......maybe a top hatch you can open so riders can stand up while 4 wheeling?
Kinda same color so was thinking........maybe he has plans for it?

He just bought a house, he is doing new house changes haha.
I've officially got a deadline for the jeep. I've been invited to join a bunch of other Jeeps in an event. It's October 28th through the 30th. So, I've gotta get it together and kick it into gear.
Trying to do the same here, as we finally have spark, then found old carb was leaking.
Replaced that, then found the battery was low.....UGH
Found the adapter posts to use a side post battery were too long, and adapters would not snug up on the shoulder.....it was hot, truck was not cooperating, so we called it a day.
More on my build thread!
