160km on highway but cruising at 90km/h, rest a mix of urban and extra urban
I think I am running quite rich and that a good carb tune up will help to reach 6km/l
Updates: managed to get the exhaust fixed by a local workshop, using Walker exhaust pipe for XJ and Walker tail pipe for SJ 5.9....
I also had the flywheel resurfaced and a new clutch disc installed, but the issue is still there, despite reduced. What else shall I look at? Going reverse is still a pain...
New problem spotted: early morning with cold and humidity it runs very badly, it stalls and can hardly rev up. Fitted new spark plugs and will probably inspect the carburetor to see whether choke is working and idle jets are free. Just driven back from the shop and it did run fine, but tomorrow morning...who knows?
As commented in another post, any time I engage reverse and start moving backwards the entire body shakes like hell, until clutch pedal is fully reeased and then it moves smoothly
It is happening only when clutch is slipping, eg during parking manouvers, and a little also when downshifting even though it is barely noticeable
I have new clutch (replaced twice, so I am pretty sure it is ok) new release bearing and new pressure plate and flywheel has been machined, therefore I guess the problem is somewhere else
What else shall I inspect? Motor/trans mounts maybe? U-joints? Rear diff? Gearbox?
Thanks
No oil leak at the rear crankshaft seal? i have a similar issue but i have not replaced anything yet and i have had an oil leak at the rear so i know that's
on of the reasons.
Trans mount is a good thing to check they are not expensive.
Back on this subject, can anybody point me to a good motor and trans mount kit that fits a 258 with t176/np208?
I would try this route while I am replacing the u-jojnt bearings, since it will be easier to do these together
Thx
So 5 in total?
I guess any 27x81,7 would fit
What about Moog 369, any good? Rockauto sells them for 7€ each
Moog recommends 369 (3) + 380 (2) but they look the same to me... https://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/m ... gedeal1121
Just to say I bought 5 dana spicers and had them replaced together with motor/transmission mounts
No chance to drive it yet due to coronavirus measures (all required to stay home....)
