Got any pics of them while it's out so I can see all the sides?

You as the only one I've seen make then work like that before. Either they create huge mounts to sit on the towers, or they cut out the towers ava start from scratch.

I was contemplating buying the novak ones for placement.

Should be. Runs from ball to heater control then routed to divert doors faor hot or cold flow.
79 Cherokee WT QT Golden Eagle white with gold windows "Pigger" only blows hubs the night before a road trip or the clodest night of year. Has only been towed cause of stupid.

OK, thanks! I'll make sure that one has vacuum then.

Some more progress today. Never as much as planned tho.
Ended up needing the replace both front brake lines and also the hard line to the front.
replaced all the rubber brake lines
ran fuel feed to new tank (will use the stock fuel line for the return)
Put together a big spread sheet for all the tcase wiring
Wired all the wires coming off the tcase
installed jeep oil pressure sensor in LM7
Rebuilt front driveshaft ujoints
Reinstalled the engine.

Mounts...nothing super pretty for these. If I would make more they would be a little more pretty.
These are boxed around the back sides and some in the inside.

Forgot these two...

Jeep oil pressure sensor in place on the LS
Image

And the mount off the trans for the filter linkage. The jeep bushing mount will bolt to this.

Spent some more time wiring today. Have the GM T-case computer and switch all wired up. Just need to feed it, constant power, switch 12v, and ground and it will be set to go.

Module will go right under the dash in the center and the switch will go in the blank panel between the two vents in the center of the dash.
What is the AMC box for? cruise?
Image

I have some questions and need some clarification on some of the Jeep wiring that was on the engine.
Going to edit and answer my questions as I have found the answers and want to have the info here for someone else down the road if needed

What is this connector for? It is located at the firewall and near the passenger side. Pretty sure this all went down to the tcase or trans. Three wires are cut and two go to a connector. Maybe backup lights? What about the others?

This is called the c193
Pin A - Park/Neutral Safety wire from trans
Pin B - Reverse Switch
Pin C - Reverse Switch
Pin D - 4wd indication on cluster
Pin E - 4wd locked indication on cluster

Image
and the connector coming off it. connector goes to tcase for dash lights
Image

goes to pressure switch in AC line
This went to the AC compressor which I understand but there is another connector to this harness that looks like a switch of some sort and I had labeled it as being under the Alternator. Is there a pressure switch there or? Can the 3 pin connector be removed and the remaining single wire will give me 12v when AC is requested?
Image
close up of the connector in question.
Image

carb solenoid or something like that
This had went to the carb..connector to the right of the tape label. What is this for?
Image

Is this oil PSI to the right and then the oil temp for the choke on the left? yes
Image

These were all at or near the alternator. I assume black is alt light/excite wire. One must be a charge wire....what is the other? yes
Image

This was connected to the distributer. What signals are coming to/from this? comes from the ignition box on drivers side inner fender
Image
Image

I assumed this one was coolant gauge in the dash. Connector is just to the right of the tape. 90 degree angled connector. yes
Image

Wires to and from the coil. I assume one of these is switched 12v...do the others go to that distributor connector? Mostly needing to know what does what.
Image

What is this valve and wiring to it? carb bowl vent valve
Image

over near the brake booster. connection to under hood light
Image

does this need to stay? no
Image

Just to confirm some vacuum lines/connections. yes
The three up top shown here are for the tcase/front axle lockout? Goes to the 2wd/4wd switch under the steering wheel?
The single one down below the 3 is for heater?
Image

thanks for any help at all!!

Those wiring digrams were perfect. Dug through the Jeep wiring today and thinned out all the unneeded stuff and got what I need labeled.

Some random pictures of the engine and wiring getting cleaner.
Image
PCM fits nicely on the drivers side inner fender...once I removed the cruise and can. If I want cruise I will retorfit one of the early 90s GM electric units.
Image
Image

Wiring that got pulled out. Anyone need the ignition box?
Image

sorta a useless pic...but the wiring pulled aside that is needed.
Image

Do you guys know if the start wire is enough to power to solenoid on the GM starter? Or should I run it through a relay?

Why not use the PCM for the cruise?

GM drive by cable doesn't handle cruise. If it was a drive by wire then yes a few of them do.

Also I updated the post above with answers to my questions.

I have this same driveline that I'm going to swap in my chief (when I can get time to work on it again...) I'd be interested in your wiring diagram or images for the T-case, will the "Auto" setting on it still work when you are finished?

Looks great btw!

Sure thing. I have a PDF I will post and/or email you. Yes the auto function will still work. How that works is it watches the speed of the front and rear shafts. When the rear is above the front it will lock the tcase in.

thanks!

I've got my eyes on this! I just started pulling the jeep apart, I am very curious to see what wires are the "important" ones for the swap!

I'll be sure to take some pictures of the wires I pulled from the jeep loom. I confirmed them all this morning. Really only 4 wires you need from the jeep side. That includes the coolant temp and oil pressure wires.

Some days it feels like a ton got done and others not so much...just running around getting things.

Anyway...
checking things off the list
**Brake Booster line hooked up. Ended up using GM valve and hose in the Jeep booster. The jeep valve fitting was much smaller than the GM so dealing with a hose with two sizes would have been a pain.
**Hooked up vacuum line for heater system, teed into the FPR vac line.
**Removed EGR and plugged hole with 1 3/8" freeze plug
**Bolted torque converter to flex plate
**Installed starter
**Replacing trans filter in progress
**Made mount onto summit aluminum radiator and added 1/8" NPT port for steam vent
**Ran lines to Heater Core
**Replaced oil filter
**Figured out lower radiator hose
**ordered some couplers for intake and upper radiator hose
**confirmed all the wiring is what I need by powering up the jeep.
**ran hoses to trans cooler hard lines

One thing I did learn is you need to use a 1996 Jimmy Fuel pump and not 97+. The 97+ has a different ohm range for the gauge sender and the 96 matches the jeep exactly.

This is a summit racing radiator. I tigged the angle brackets on the side to mount it to the stock Jeep mounting points.
