Well after some thought we've desided to put the J-10 44 from Flint on the 79 frame then put Beca's j-truck on it.Should save some time not having to deal with the post mount.

Are you putting the 69 cab and bed on the 79 frame? Did you measure the wheelbase of each?

Confession

Post by fulsizjeep »

I noticed this on Sunday and have been squirming in my frothy soup. I am such an idiot sometimes. Bob, the axle we brought you is for a WT Cherokee not a J10. I guess the basket needs to follow the Kia to Tucson again. <head desk> <head desk> <head desk>

Thanks, the bruises aren't too bad... Maybe Jerry will be making a run by this way and we can toss it in his load. We have something else for you here too so another trip is not out of line. B-)

WT Cherokee and J10 front axles are identical. Its the rear axle that is quite different.

Yep, that's right Brandon. We are talking about rear. When I loaded it, I thought it was for the J10. When I saw my mistake Sunday, the J10 axle was sitting there going "neener neener neener I'm still here".

Ahh yeah. The WT Cherokee axles wont even clear the springs on the J10.

Well Beca just beat her old man, that sucks. We are stripping her frame down and pulling the axle was kicking my ars,yes have pullers and tools, she gets out there today and says weld the big nut to the puller dad and bang thread the nut back to the axle and it's done .(5 min utes,oh and keep your finger out from the side and base causes quite the pinch point.
