Looking at the 82 brochure they show the Factory Grill Guard with what looks like welded on Light mounting tabs, Is that just an illusion of the photo or did they offer that? I've not seen one with light mounting tabs, most lights look to just be bolted thru the pipe.

The one I put on Krista's Wag does not have the tabs. Pretty sure it came off a 79. I believe the tabs were added in 1980. Maybe 81. I had an 81 J10 years ago that had the tabs.
Yep the tabs showed up when the vendor and shape of grill guard changed around 80.
79 Cherokee WT QT Golden Eagle white with gold windows "Pigger" only blows hubs the night before a road trip or the clodest night of year. Has only been towed cause of stupid.
I'm dropping my Grill Guard off at the powder coaters* on Monday so my weekend project is to get these light tabs welded in. Could one of you guys measure the tabs on your guard for me please? maybe an up close photo?
Thanks,

*Got an awesome deal to get get my guard, roll bar, and custom rear bumper all powder coated. Its going to look awesome.
I'm mostly curious if they just used flat stock like the CB antenna mount in the center of the roll bar or if it was C channel like the light mounts on the roll bar...
