Extra stamp on the man card! I have to drive just 500 miles each direction and I was thinking of splitting it in two!Grand_Wag_85 wrote:Made it to Iowa, 1000 miles in one sitting. The other half comes tomorrow.
Fire?! Pffft. I lit my engine bay on fire before the first invasion and still made it! .... course I had a fire extinguisher out fast and avoided any major issues.Nikkormat wrote:Fire, the disqualifying condition is fire. And I'm missing the triangular support piece for the gas tank skid plate. So no skid plate.
BUT... The one crispy wire and a bunch of little mechanical problems sound a hecuva lot easier to fix than the fuel starvation in the 74. Spent all day on it and was rewarded with a very very slight improvement.
What all can I do without the skid plate? Alta lakes?
I can take a look. You have the booster socket, right? I will try to bring my gear to help with testing...Grand_Wag_85 wrote:For the DIY FI guys going to Ouray. I'll have my Auto Prom with me. Anybody else good with these? I've done everything I can think of doing (read every how to) and can't get it to talk to the car.
Bring the other one!Blake wrote:just found out that my ram is bad. I think it was the cause of my power steering pump failure.
I have the new j20 gear tapped for the ram and plugged. It's just not enough power to turn the 42's.
I may not be able to make it this year as a result. I need power steering badly...
Holy cow! It's 1000 miles from our house to Ouray. The one time we tried to drive straight through in 2010 we made it to Salida and hooked up with Jason, Pam and Allen and Greg and Joann and stayed the night there. We were completely brain-dead and sleep deprived. But we were also towing for the first time and coming off of several weeks of sleep deprivation due to the Explorer build as well. You definitely deserve the lead butt award again this year!Grand_Wag_85 wrote:Made it to Iowa, 1000 miles in one sitting. The other half comes tomorrow.
Cool. We'll figure it all out later but I definitely want to get up on Imogene again and I'm pretty sure the Mazda is not gonna make it :pshimniok wrote:I can take a look.
