Fold and tumble the back seat. The strap will stretch over the little bolt on the seat that is there for that purpose.

Back in the day my brother asked Dad what that strap was. Dad told him and us that it was a substitute for his belt should we get out of line...
It was an effective horseplay deterrent on long trips. :P

What breaks on these? Does the hole pull through?

Mine is fine, but if its going to break I wont use it anymore.

I think I still have the one from my old Cherokee. I will look for it and if someone wants it, let me know. It's tan.

Usually they break near the mounted end or the end loops splits.
