Scott the mirror mounts with a single stud. Look at any of the Grote mirrors they have a stud on them, almost any after market mirror is mounted this way. Let me know what type of mirror you are thinking about and I'll see what I can do for you.
The nice thing is that the nutserts keep the mount away from the body slightly so there is no rubbing and water will flow between them. So hopefully no rust
