Well I had to do a little work on Wally this week. After a good trip in the desert last Sat. and the electric fuel pump stop working
I Martin and I did not have heat. So I started with the heater while I was waiting on the new fuel pump. I started with the fuse
and no power, found out SOMEONE cut a wire to the fuse panel so I did a jumper wire and still no heater blower. So I go to check
for power to the blower under the hood and no power and while I am under the hood I put my hand on the wiring harness on the
valve cover and it was HOT. So I stop on the heater and took the harness apart and found the resistor wire was what I through
was the problem so since I had put a TFI coil in there awhile back and it said 12v so I just cut it out and put and heavier wire in
it place. Well it still wouldn't start and when I got around to the coil it was HOT. So I go and get another new TFI coil and it still
didn't start and I started to smell an odd smell. Yep it was the MODULE.
Got some more done today. Got heater working after getting the fuse by passed and hooked to a different place in the fuse box.
Fuel pump came today and got it hooked but had to leave it about 4" above the bottom of tank. Tank is to close to the axle to put
lower. Now I have to find out why the resistor wire in the engine wiring harness get so hot that it melt the black plastic cover.
Oh, the new pump was leaking gas out of the pump, think I will need to send back.
Hey Jerry, not looking too shabby considering it was pretty crippled when it left here last summer. I am not a fan of the flares personally because I would end up rubbing them off on a tree or a rock or a bunch of rocks and trees. I am glad you got the heater blower figured out. It was another casualty of the Las Cruces melt down in 09. That had nothing to do with the graboid rock.
Wally setting in Tucson at Bob waiting on it to stop raining so he can paint it.
The flares are not to bad to do, just let Flint cut the fender for you.
Mike, did you see how I did the headliner. I pulled the cloth off and scrap the foam off
and painted to match the interior.
Well Mike if the rain stop long enough he is painting to hole wagoner.
Oh the other Mike now if your headliner is just warped you can do as rstep did with his
soak it down and lay it flat with something holding it and let it dry. His came out good.
You can contact him for better detail. I have a good back piece of liner if you need it
just not the front YET.
Finished up the paint for Jerry yesterday. Put all the bright stuff on today, tomorrow will finish up some rock slides and the bumpers . Here's a few teaser shots.
