Official: This is a meet and greet so allow us to meet other FSJ owners in the area. You don't have to bring your Jeep if you are driving in for out of town. Its well known that newer cars get better fuel economy :) The location has food that is priced well and has a good atmosphere. Link to their site is below.

Date: October 18th, 2014
Time: 2:00 PM
Place: Standard Pour
19040 Standard Road
Sonora, CA 95370

Coming:

Renodemona

============================

Since I know there are at least four of us (Although I am unable to get ahold of number four, 88MudMangler from IFSJA) figure we could do a small meet up just to talk and hang out. I know Ed's J10 is currently in a non-moving state.

But figured I would put this out there, see what the other locals think. Maybe we can meet for lunch or something like that.

Thoughts?

Too far north for me. Sounds fun though.

Sac is only 2.5 hours, so not too bad if we can get enough people to go to make it worth your while.

Ok, so question is. When and where?

Maybe someplace like Jackson? Kinda in-between for the few of us in central and north areas. Hollister OHV park might be kinda cool if it's still open.
I'm not against going to Sonora either. Maybe you locals have some cool mid-level wheeling places to share?
If any of you could justify a Reno trip I would volunteer my property out by Pyramid Lake as a campsite (Dry Camping) and wheeling complex. 110 acres of steep and rocky wheeling as well as many miles of two-track roads to explore. Something to consider anyway.

I like the Pyramid Lake idea...perhaps after it cools down.

No problems with Sonora or Jackson or anywhere in between.

My thought for this first meet up was just kind of a get together. I know some people's jeeps are under construction, so to start with just a meet and greet for the locals.

We can move forward from there. I am sure Jackson has some meet up spots, but I have only been there twice in my life. So I really know nothing about the place. But it would be more centralized for others to attend. Murfys would be a cool meet up spot too.

Ahhh well I'm still interested in a meet-up even if it doesn't involve wheeling.

Ok, so we need to choose a time and date.

When does everybody have a free day?

My thoughts are for the first meet up to be a meet and greet. So hang out and have lunch, talk, and so on. Was thinking to meet up at the Standard Poor (http://www.standard-pour.com) outside of east sonora. It has a great atmosphere, and plenty of parking area. Prices are also decent. But figured this way we can get to know each other, and then plan what ever other outing we want to do next. Plenty of mild trails in the area that a stock waggy should be able to handle that are very scenic.

Thoughts?

PS: I am open to other meet up locations. This one just came to mind because it works well with groups and is fine for kids and such.

This sounds good. Any weekend in Sept/Oct will work for me except Sept 27/28.

I'm up in Reno as well, out towards Pyramid too. Unfortunately I currently work weekends but would be totally free just about any Tuesday-wed-Thursday ;) Also know a couple super easy trails around here for nice photo ops. Sac is doable for me as well, only about 2-2.5 hours.

I'm good for something on Oct 18th (Saturday). I know it is a ways out, but time off is hard to come by for me ;) Lots of places in Auburn, Also good with Sac/Davis though don't know it as well. Just did a day trip to Grass Valley/Empire mine which is very pretty and lots of things to see as well. Kind of a trek though for the Sonora crowd. Auburn is about 100 miles for Reno and Sonora, less for the Sac group. Placerville is also nice, they have a great pizza place (or did, hmm should check on that) Definitely want to get something going that day though.

Ok, so some people are busy the last weekend of september, and I am busy the first weekend of October.

What does everybody think of October 18th?
