I was talking to some people just last night about running spring creek. It's still snowed in at the top and that was before the latest storm to go through.
I may have to take the old honcho up there and break the trail open. I do have a pair of snow chains that fit the 42's.
Call/text me at 720 837 6608 and let's discuss the details. We were actually thinking about opening it up this weekend.
There was NO snow on spring creek. the previous week's sunshine was just too much and it all melted. We met a couple of buddies up there and I got to ride in a sick buggy on 42" pit bulls. Lots of people on the trail and lots of carnage; a few bent/broken leave springs, a couple of broken drive shafts and one NP231 case grenaded (I still don't see why soooo many people like chain driven t-cases...) Of course the old Honcho had zero issues and climbed everything like a champ. My buddy actually drove the honcho while I rode in the buggy.
We made it up to the top and ate some lunch, then headed down to Idaho Springs. Everyone else headed home but we decided to wheel over Fall River road/Kingston Peak/Mammoth Gulch over to Rollinsville. We basically 'wheeled home.
^Wow. That sounds like a fun and entertaining run. Hopefully, there won't be too many people already on the trail when tomorrow morning. I like to crawl and take my time picking lines...

we got onto the trail at 9am and there were already tons of folks up there and more coming.
Take your time, follow your spotter and if there are folks behind you, pull over and let 'em pass. Most people up there are very friendly and wanna watch the carnage as much as anyone.
I guess my biggest pet peeve would be the folks who pull up to an obstacle then get out and watch, then don't pull up to the obstacle when it's their turn. That seems to be the biggest bottleneck.
