I am personally using a power distribution center from a factory 4.0L XJ. It works very well, wired in very easily. It's got a lot of fuse spots as well as 6 relay slots, IIRC. I had to keep two relays from the factory harness for the fuel pump and the ECU. That leaves two spots for headlight relays (which can be fused right there as well), a potential electric fan relay and at least one more. Standard Bosch relays are among the most dependable you can get, and designed to fit the OEM box.
Much cleaner setup than anything you can piecemeal.
I'm sure there are aftermarket setups that accomplish the same thing, this happened to be in the FI harness already so I utilized it.

The PDC itself should be pretty easy to come by...I got one from a '94 XJ (with the rest of my FI stuff) but I believe Jeep used them in just about everything in the early 90s. I imagine the later model stuff has something similar as well.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone here have experience restoring the factory fog lights? Mine are all rusty inside.. but I still gave the OEM covers, so it'd be a shame to trash em..

Start a new thread. That has nothing to do with this topic.

It wasn't intended to be rude, though looking back it may have come off that way. It'll just be easier for people to see your question if you start a new thread. And it's rude to hijack someone else's.

Perhaps we just need a thread that covers the general betterment of lighting quality for the FSJ. Most lumens for the buck. My only thought was since light minded individuals were already here, they might shed light on my query.

LED is NOT HID.
That looks like a pretty cheesy HID setup, indeed. As the others have mentioned I would skip to the next one.
I've been looking for quite a while and have yet to find a good HID setup. Like Pyro said, you REALLY want projectors to do HIDs correctly. Sure, a lot of people have done without them, but they are in no way even comparable to a good projector setup.
I'm still running the stock stuff for now, as I've yet to find anything worth the expense to replace is. The newer LED headlights look pretty promising, but they're still really big money at this point.

this, I made the mistake of buying a set of the drop in HID kits, it was $30 or so, figuring it would be worth at least that much......they were not.

I took mine off and put them in a box. I installed the lights i currently have
using the same wires and hookups for the stock fog lights, so no rewire:)
Here you can see where I used the stock brackets to mount
the lights. I used the existing wiring and switch to operate
them, only took a few minutes and these little dudes are

Does the stock setup use a relay of any sort or is it similar to the headlight circuit, routing all the power inside? I'd be hesitant to hook up anything higher power than the stock lights (headlights or otherwise) without using a relay. The old wiring, especially running inside, is just a sketchy deal.

I am not sure, I would have to look at a schematic. So far I have
no issues as the lights come on and I do not see a change in the
volt meter. I do need to adjust them, they kinda point different
directions:)
I had 2 tiny sets of those when I got mine & they did seem bright.
In the rebuild I decided to go with the here comes the sun type.
Now they're bright. But not ten dollars.
The factory Marchall lights have a lot of cool factor to the OEM crowd. Restoring them are very popular & have a great following for such an underrated light. Everyone has the right to like what they want. If you like them you can scrounge parts to restore them. I sold some restorables for 20 bucks last year. I don't use mine on road so I could care less how much too bright they are to some. But then again they are yours & need to fit your needs & pocket book. How really bright do you need on the road?? My HID takes care of that. Mark the OP of this thread is a good guy I highly doubt he has a problem with you jackin it LOL.
I have slightly digressed.
Then you'll be good.
