Qtrac front Hub Cupped Spring Washer Orientation?

Post by CBJoe »

Hello,

Can someone please idiot check me here....the front hub cupped spring washer should be oriented as show in the picture yes? I believe this idiot (myself) installed them backwards last time I did the brakes. One was destroyed when I took apart again....the other was in good shape.

Manual says install with Cupped side towards center of vehicle....which tells me I was probably wrong last time

Here is a shot of the front hub assembly out of the '76 TSM. From the looks of it, you have the orientation correct.

Thanks Stuka...I also found a yukon locking hub kit kit that uses that same cupped washer, and the orientation is also as discussed. So i'm good there. Stupid me thought it Cupped the spring as opposed to cupping the bearing race to keep the spring positioned out.

Easy mistake to make, as logically the other way kind of makes sense too.
