well, after nearly 4 years, light is at the end of the tunnel,my daughter wanted an FSJ well i found one locally here in phoenix, originally it spent its life in Tucson,AZ typical az vehicle interior was toast, paint sun baked, but pretty solid, started by removing the interior, and starting from there, cleaned the surface rust from drivers and pax side floors and conversion coated them and finch primered them, moved on to repairing the dash pad, speedo cluster heat controls, heater core and a/c evaporator coils were packed with debris, along with the cold air vents on the driver/pax sides, moved to the engine bay and rebuilt the carb, but it ran like crap, had the carb rebuilt by a local shop, butterfly shaft had to be rebushed but still no change worth the effort, found the engine had been rebuilt and bored .020 over, checked the cylinders with a borescope from a friend and the pistons were clean enough to read the oversize stampings, had to change the rear seal due to a leak, seals took a set and were hard, installed holly sniper/hyper sperk assy. and the beast 360 purrs like a kitten,(see my f.i. write up series) changed out the a/c to 134 with new hoses new fan clutch ,radiator, hoses, water pump,p.s. pump, belts, rostra cruise control, master cylinder, belts, remote trans oil cooler, power steering hoses, new wire loom , filters, moving on to the drive train, trans was rebuilt KUDOS to haynes transmission in phoenix (RYAN) does mostly off road trans/transfer cases this rig has a 208transfer case rebuilt axles rebuilt and regeared 3.73 with tru track in the rear, rebalanced drive shaft, 4" lift kit ,sitting on BFG TA all treeains 32x11.5x15'S, new parking brake cables, all new window/door seals , all trim/window glass removed for paint, sound proofing through out , new door panels, new front seats, fabricated front and rear bumpers , front winch, new led lights through out , swapped out the muscle grill ( was in perfect condition) for razor grill too hard to come by if damaged. installing new radios, and center console. god for another 40 years

Very nicely done! If you guys wanna do some trails around Phoenix let me know. If you are looking for a shake down off road run we can hit bull dog out by Saguaro lake. I run this trail all of the time and it is a lot of fun but not crazy.

Looks Great!

Did you replace the rear quarter glass gasket too. If so what did you use or did you source a premade?

That's looking really clean! The cargo tie-downs are always good.

The Kaiser Jeep logo in the '70s razor grille is a nice touch too :)

Very nice! Nice to see a two-door FSJ; very rarely see any around here. Love the color.
