You mean the OHC 230 and the Rambler 232? Way before my time with Jeep. I have no idea about those transmissions. I'd think they'd have a short shaft, but maybe not. I don't think the 230 ever got a T-18, just the T-98. The Rambler 232 probably got the T-98 then the T-18 at some point in time.

Mine was originally a 232. I did a 4L MPI swap which is the same as a 258 block. So because of mounting points and starter location I had to basically build my own adapter since it isn't offered by anyone. Maybe the OP has a different configuration since it was apparently a stock AMC era I6 setup. I was just stating my own experiences and the fact that swapping T18s into things always gets my attention. There were so many uses and configurations of them as far as input shaft lengths and bell housings. I like reading posts about them and their various setups.
