12.25 in town and 10 mile trip each way to my old work, 14.5 on freeway at 65 at around 7000 lbs gross. engine is stock without emissions stuff, single exhaust, 3.31's and 31's
After I put the 2" lift on, I thought my stock tires looked a little wimpy at 29". But I'm super happy with my milage. Do you think adding 30-31" tire next go around would increase or decrease the milage? I know off road bigger tires drop milage like a stone. But a little bigger street tire might fill my wheel wells better and increase milage a tad.....you would think?

It depends what your gear ratio is. On my MJ, I swapped in 235/75/15s for a trip almost to CA and came back towing an Eagle SX4. With 3.73 gears we did 17 mpg going down (at 60-70 mph) and 14 coming back at 55 while towing the SX4. If we'd had the 33" tires on, gas would've been more (I average 15 mpg empty with them) but if I swapped in 4.10s, the tire size/ratio would've matched and fuel economy would've been about the same running the 33s. We would've been towing the SX4 uphill all the way here though!
I shoot for the best economy by changing tire size and testing how the vehicle operates for several tanks. If the economy drops, then I drop the gear ratio to get it back in range. My MJ was originally 3.07 gears with stock tires and a 5 speed. I converted to auto and since Jeep switched them to 3.55 ratio for economy, I should be running 4.10s with the 33" tires for a matching ratio. I discovered the hard way that if I dropped it to 4.56, the fuel economy would drop along with power.
