1979 Cherokee Laredo?

I have come upon a 1979 Cherokee wide track....Now it has a very high build number the number is 080745 in the vin....It also has Laredo badges or it did have you can see the outline in the rust...it also has what is left of the Laredo stripe package ...It has a 360 2 BBL.with a 3 spd manual. It is a 79 model truck as listed in the VIN...I thought Laredo's started with the 1980 model year....could this be a rare bird 1979 late year production Laredo? It has me stumped....
