Full Size Jeep Network

So I bought a new tail gate crank from TGW a while back and went to install it today but it doesn’t seem to reach the splined receiver and doesn’t look quite right. My crank was missing when I bought the Jeep so I’m not sure what was suppose to be there. Take a look at the two pictures and let me know if something is missing broken or has been modified.

Indeed, looks modified, there should be a matching splined receiver inside the tailgate

If I can hobble to the storage section, I'll take a pict of what it is supposed to be

Looks like they modified it and had a wrench or the like to rear inside and roll the window up and down.
