Full Size Jeep Network

So, I have been planning on putting fuel injection on both jeeps for some time. I bit the bullet this week end and ordered the fitech go street 400 and it arrived today. Dropped $100 at the Parts store after work and plumbed it all in. I had all the extra parts I needed (I thought) to plumb a new 3/8" steel fuel line from my 31 gallon blazer tank to the tbi. First difficulty was I had eliminated my return so I had to drop the full tank low enough to get my arm on top of the tank to plumb in a return (wish I had hung a hose off it and hose clamped a bolt in like I thought about doing when I installed it). Then I mounted the pump and ran the hard line up the frame rail and the fire wall to exit on the back of the intake. Installed my o2 sensor in my bung that was already there. Installed the throttle body and wired it up. It's four wires without a fan or ac and 6 with. I already had a Chevy tbi coolant sensor in the manifold so I just plugged it in. Ran the controller wires into the cab. Primed the pump and checked for leaks... It didn't leak from any hose clamped connections but it did leak from the union in the steel lines. Had to really souse down on the fittings to get them tight enough to not leak. Basically got it running in about 4 hours (If I hadn't had to drop the tank it would have probably been a 2-2.5 hr job). One thing that I didn't have and kept me from test driving is they use and 5/16 hole for the air cleaner stud and my edelbrock and a Holley I have both were 1/4". Stopped by a bolt....

Hahaha! Typical propriety. Make one thing just a little bit special so they have to buy it from us!

Still, pretty quick install for having to mess with a FULL fuel tank!

Go get that 5/16" wing nut and have fun!!!

Runs and drives, about like bolting on a carburetor. Hopefully it "learns" how to get my fuel mileage up about 5mpg.... And maybe my lottery ticket will hit too ;P

Took it to ECI for a shakedown and it performed flawlessly. Between it and the T-18 I spent more time with my foot on the brake than the gas. Never died on me once on or off the trail. So far I'm pretty thrilled. Going to be driving it to north west Georgia next weekend about 8 hour round trip for a full set of interior panels and headliner. We shall see how it does. Maybe I will get an idea of what kind of mileage I will get.

Just find a nut that fits, an old wrench that fits said nut, and weld the nut in the wrench. Cut down wrench handle, if desired. Who needs wing-nuts?

Ha ha!! That would be me, too, doing all that work just to avoid a 15 minute trip to the hardware store for a 75 cent part....

It wasn't the nut... The threaded hole in the throttle body was 5/16" instead of 1/4". I would have used a 5/16" bolt if I could have found one. It's all good now.

Just drove to Canton Georgia and back probably right at 300 miles round trip (had to detour and pick up my oldest from a lock in). System is working great, no complaints according to fuelio I got 13.78 mpg. That's probably pretty accurate as I have a speedhut gps speedo. 360 t18 3.73 gears and 33" km2.

Old federal road (hwy 411) is not a bad drive, just have to watch out for the speed traps (5 lanes with 30 mph speed limit in one place).
