Here we go folks. The tailgate has a crap weather strip on the gate and the window weather strip where the glass meets the roof is toast. Now that carpet makes the road sound better, the tailghate weather stripping is discovered old and dead and whistling in the breeze...

New order with BJs: $97 for new weather goobers.

it's just a flesh wound! :-bd

Yeah, make one thing quiet, and the next quietest thing is now loud. :)

Of course, you COULD get a TJ...then you couldn't hear it if it was loud...

Well heck and all that goes with it. Just picked up a new set of Pioneer speakers for the back. Rockin' a front end alignment, tires rotated and balanced. It is amazing how much smoother she run the highway. Both front wheels were pointed to the right. The L was 2.76 and the R was -1.61. We have put about 1000 miles on her since we left Tucson with P2 on Memorial Day.

For sure! I washed her yesterday after the alignment. She was still sporting Ouray dirt and sure shines up nice.

OK, not much going on here until last weekend. The used T400 is out on the floor sitting next to the original Phoebe transmission vwhich has been overhauled by Jeff Yoder of Yellow Jacket, CO. The R band, QT adapter, tailshaft and rear output bearing have been replaced along with a RV shift kit and new TC. Yes, it is purple...

I am stopping the rebuild project talley at the front end alignment. We are into the P2 project about $5300. This is saying you can build a nice Wagoneer out of a wreck for under $6000 with some mighty fine FSJ friends on the job. :-bd

The tranny work cost $685 plus $45 for the NOS bearing and $50 for ATF.

It just never seems to stop does it. I just got home from a 60 mile each way trip to get exhaust pipe for the W-250 to find the new pulleys had been dropped off by our frendlly Fedex driver. I am hoping tomorrow we can get back on this hot and heavy, because I have a job interview on Friday!!

The QT was NOS 5 years ago. The drained fluid looked good with fine metallic particulate and no chunks.

What are you going to do when you run out of QT parts?

I just run my cursor over those and highlight them. Makes an egly dark blue background and white text. Much easier on the eyes. ;)

I think by then that it will be time to turn the KIA into a trail rig.

True, true - but I wonder if a Sorrento will last 30 years? 20? :-?

I drove P2 to work two days this week. The new tranny works great. People walk up all the time wanting to talk about it. I got my right foot hung in some wire before daylight on Thursday and now the radio doesn't work. Yeah, this Jeep is special but it has stuff still needs to be fixed and probably always will. 8-}
