hesitation right at the beginning of the throttle opening.

hi guys,

my remanufactures and tuned 2150 motorcraft got some hesitation right at the beginning of the first and second throttle opening. when repeated this action, the hesitation disapeares but come back as soon after a short idle time.
any idea whats wrong ?

is it a necessity to put gasket sealant ont the gasket between carb and intake ?

No. It should be clean. Sometimes a very thin coating of grease is used, but never any gasket sealer.

Suspect you have a vacuum leak somewhere else. Or, this carburetor can be adjusted to give a larger accelerator pump shot, which may be what you need to eliminate the hesitation. It's also possible that the carburetor is jetted a little too lean for your engine. Ask Gronk about this.
