Yes, I believe that may have led to the failure of the old one, it had a bit of gravel in there.

Another reading comprehension fail. Didn't realize you said you were using the old covers on the new yokes.
Sic friatur crustulum

'84 GW with Nissan SD33T, early Chev NV4500, 300, narrowed Ford reverse 44, narrowed Ford 60, SOA/reversed shackle in fornt, lowered mount/flipped shackle in rear.

After some lack luster local trips and failing to gain speed in overdrive I considered that I didn't have enough gearing so I switched back to stock size super swampers.
Got this thing out on the highway recently was doing 80 or so, gave it a good 30 miles down the road and came back home I am really digging overdrive can't wait to change gear ratios and get some bigger tires back in here but in the meantime started tying up a few loose ends.

So it took some doing but I got the leak fixed, 3rd seal did the trick.

Had a leaking oil pressure gauge fitting, fixed it.

No reverse lights, fixed.Image

interior lights door switches not grounding fixed.

Fuel gauge fixed, that was an interesting one had to pull the nuts and washers off the back of the gauge panel and sand em down, works now.

Added some length to air cleaner to try to get iat's down hopefully. Haven't run it yet

And now working on a larger radiator.

Got the radiator mocked up but need some shielding gas to complete.
was able to change the outlet, so progress.
