Window Tint

Post by Locked and Loaded »

New Windshield and gasket $250.00
LLumar Air Blue 80 Tint on Windshield $250.00
Huper Optik Drei Tint all the way around. $750.00
Keeping cool and not letting the Arizona sun destroy the interior. Priceless.

Does that tint have gold in it or something?! I just got my '14 Fusion re-tinted for $200...and they had to remove the original dealer installed crap.

No gold just the best at keeping UV light and IR heat out. Something your $200. tint doesn't do very well.

As long as you're happy with it is all that matters.

It's like the difference between a nice pair of Smith sunglasses and gas station PUG sunglasses. The cheapies do work, just not nearly as well.

Annoying question time... How much lift and what size tires?

Good thing I live in Oregon. The sun is farther away so the tint is a lot cheaper, but I'll have to make it up in wiper blades and sealants lol....

$1,000.00 seems a bit steep. But I'm sure AZ sun warrants the best.

Hey, I was right, there is gold in it.
"This highly specialized reflective technology was developed for a NASA Space Shuttle. To allow a pilot to fly a plane through the atmosphere without burning up, a very high performing window was needed without compromising the view. They developed the Hüper Optik spectrally selective technology. By using Nano Technology, they were able to use precious metals, silver and gold, to allow in the maximum amount of light, but reject the maximum amount of heat without increasing the visual reflectivity of the glass."

My favorite is purple bubble tint, but I can't find a professional that will install it. :P

Most professionals don't have the training nessecary to install purple bubble tint. It requires alot of planning as you shouldn't see the fruits of your labor for several year.

Strategically putting big oily hand smudges on the glass is step one.

Step two is to drag the squeegee across the tint in such short violent strokes that you create ripples in the tint film.

Step three is to park the vehicle in the sun for a good 5-6 years and watch the bubbles grow.
