I for some reason thought those clusters were for the later dash styles. I'll have to look into that. Pics if anyone has them!bgott wrote:Don't have pictures but Zach from Z & M does a really nice job making custom clusters for these trucks. He uses autometer gauges and they look really slick. Will try to get a picture of it soon.
Why can't I have nice things?fulsizjeep wrote:Jim was sharing the dash pix at the Ouray KOA in 2012. Looks clean.

gps speedo, not too sure about reception in deep canyons, when I use the gps on the off road bike, at download some sections can list 160mph.... but really neat, except the price.... be warned
Do you want $1000 instruments or a $4000 Atlas. Oh, you already made that choice.Tad wrote:Why can't I have nice things?fulsizjeep wrote:Jim was sharing the dash pix at the Ouray KOA in 2012. Looks clean.

I believe my dad had to contact him about getting it made but I'm not for certain. As for a picture I'm in the process of getting that right now.Landman_MTX wrote:I for some reason thought those clusters were for the later dash styles. I'll have to look into that. Oh man... thats Jeep pornbgott wrote:
Yes and now the Jeep is FINALLY painted. I am putting it back together. I don't think it will be much of an issue in really deep canyons. I doubt this will get into a canyon that deep that it won't receive at least 1 sat signal, but if it does then hey free mileage!fulsizjeep wrote:Jim was sharing the dash pix at the Ouray KOA in 2012. I'm using some 3/16 thick aluminum plate from some old breaker cabinets.
Fit's right down into the stock dash.
Looks real clean!
Here you can see what I mean by stacked. Speedometer on top, and each successive layer underneath to clear the gauge bezels.
Sanded off the old paint that was on the scrap and then gave it a nice brushed finish.
Original dash requires very slight modifications. Just file the top edge in three spots as shown until the gauges fit.
The additional holes in the panel are for turn signals, warning lights, brights etc.....
So you get 5 gauge spots. 1 - 3 3/8" and 4 - 2 1/16". I'll have a Speedometer, Tachometer, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Voltmeter, and fuel gauge.
Not quite sure how I'm going to attach the panel yet. I'm waiting for the rest of my gauges to arrive. I might tig some sort of bracket onto the back or find some sort of clip.
