It is probably one of the nicest KOA's around.
Actually compared to Las Cruces it's sort of a dump.
But I understand why.
They open and its high season until they close, no down time to remodel.

$17 a night in such a scenic area during this short season seems pretty fair to me! I have always enjoyed our times there and I think they really make efforts to accommodate us, though I hope this year we can get ALL the spaces towards the Firepit sites for the whole week!
Rules have been updated. Members please observe:
1) We observe KOA rules while at the KOA. Period.
2) Ryan Griffin (Gambler68) is not welcome anywhere within the KOA Campground. That is all I have for that.
3) Wrenching - Minor repairs at your camp site are OK. No fluids of any kind drained at any camp site. ***
4) If you are asked who is in charge, the answer is KOA Dave.
5) As always, bring your low range or park that big dawg at the KOA. What that means is you must have low range on your trail rig, or you can not join us on the trail ride.
So, is there a fine or some sort of hazing that happens if you show up to the gathering without your FSJ? What if you bring a baby jeep instead because your fsj is broke or not finished? I know the gathering is 6 or so months away, but you never know what could happen between now and then.
Priorities
1. God
2. Wife ( Sarah )
3. Children ( Lane & Dirk )
4. Work
5. Jeep

Maybe a little bit of ribbing around the campfire or on the trail if you break down.... Otherwise, nope, it's more about the friends and people than about the jeeps. We love to see the FSJ's. We love to talk about them too but no worries if you don't show up with one.

Nope.
Be nice, have low range and good brakes.
We will bringing the Q back for the third time unless gas stays at this price level, which I doubt.
Can't afford gas for ECi and Ouray with the tow rig/trailer if we go back above $3.00 per gallon and ECI is the priority this year.
Q has actually wheeled everything the FSJ has except Pougipsie (sp?).
We intend to do more town time and other stuff this year anyway.

Just make sure the baby Jeep has FSJ parts. My CJ is half FSJ.
1977 Cherokee S, Ford 5.0, 5 speed, BW 1356, 33 x 10.50 BFG's. No longer my DD.
2007 Mercury Milan, 2.3L, 5-speed, now my DD. 29 mpg average.
We have taken our Sorento to Ouray twice so far but we also had a FSJ. It ends up being dry storage most the time and has a 2 speed transfer case so we would not be afraid to take it out around San Juan Mtns except for Poughkeepsie Gulch.
It has been 4 months since the last update so I finally put up site 113 on the KOA map. Welcome csuengr! Please let me know if I have missed anyone.
