The Better Features than IFSJA

Post by REDONE »

Seriously, the "Someone posted something while you illiterately two-fingered your brilliant omnibus, you might wanna change some things in light of this" feature is about the best thing to happen to BBs ever!

It kept me from looking dumb in my own build thread and just saved me from interupting Austin while he makes his build thread. :ymcowboy:

304/Performance Fuel Injection TBI/MTA1/SP2P/Magnum rockers
T18/D20/D44s&4.10s/33" Mud Claws
Grizzly Locker Rear
4" front spring drop, 5" rear shackle flip
Chevy style HEI (ECM controlled)
Dolphin "Shark" gauges in a fancy homemade oak bezel
3/4 resto, rotting faster than I've been fixing it.

Yeah I really like that feature, and it has come in handy several times. As far as I know its something that is unique to PHPBB.

I got another one, while not a built in BB feature, I'm loving all the Build Thread reboots!

Getting all the new transplants to review, condense, edit and expand their build threads is packin' a lot more punch per pound for the peruser!

I'm gonna go on a little personal tangent real quick then come back to that first point.

Rebooting my build thread was a huge motivator for me. I work on my truck nearly every single day doing SOMETHING to it, but every time I go down to get started all I see is how much I have left on my list to do. Rebuilding my build thread put all my previous progress into one continuous string which really boosted my internal motivation. All the props and questions really help with the external motivation and that brings me back to my first point. I love the props and q's in my build thread because it makes me feel an obligation to keep going with it.

However, reading other peoples build threads all the attaboys disrupt the continuity of the build. So I got to thinking that all along, I could just search for the OPs posts in their own build thread and cut out nearly all the clutter! While that's not really a FSJN benefit over IFSJA, it took the FSJN to make me realize that.

In short, if you have a build going on, reboot your build thread! I wanna see all your trucks guts!

I need to boot mine back up from before '02. Especially since the truck will finally be running after 10 years dormancy!

Maybe not cut out all the fluff and filler but move it to the end? After the meat and taters? That would retain all the original content but put the build content of the post up front?

The stats! I can see that I have contributed 1.16% of all posts on this forum! If it ever reaches double digits I'll know that I spend way too much time here, haha!

My stats just make me realize how quiet I have been lately.

Probably because I haven't had the time/$$ to do much with my FSJ lately.

Hey I have not bought anything outside of gas and oil for my J10 for probably 2-3 years. I just drive. But you can still post about other things :P

My poor jeep's been neglected since I started school. It would be a lot easier if it wasn't stored 40 miles away.
