Shock mount broke, what to replace with?

Post by husker77 »

So I was trying to see if some shocks I had laying around would fit and naturally I broke the mounting stud. So I see bj's sells an extended mount and then I also saw the ford mount mod. I think I came across a dodge dana 60(trying to talk him out of the ford hp 60) so I plan on swapping that in eventually, so I want what will work good with that also.

Any advice?

You could use these to get you up and running

If you are running 'normal' shocks, then why no just weld it back together?

Because I can get either of the others for almost the same cost, or less.

Planning ahead I guess. My thing is when something breaks I like to upgrade and not just replace. I figure that way eventually the ENTIRE vehicle will be upgraded.

I stopped at the local ford dealer and got the brackets coming, $40, I guess that is the route I am going.

I've considered getting those ford shock towers for other projects, but never have.

They sound like a great upgrade!
