Awesome! Have any pictures? I eventually want to either buy or make some that can be used as a small step as well as a slider

I really like this stlye of step/slider. Are there any more common trucks that have a similar wheelbase? Maybe I could buy one for another truck that would fit a j10. And if not, how hard would it be to make something like this? Thanks for the input guys ;)

They're really not hard to make if you have access to a bender and know how to cope tube (chop saw notching is easy). It's important to use DOM and make robut kickers over to the frame. It's a pretty good span.

I made mine a long time ago, and got beat up hard since my rig was low for so long. Never had any problems with them though. 1.75"x0.120" wall HREW tubing.

Sliders was one of the best things I did to waggy. Killer32:

I put them on the Cherokee even though they are pretty beat up:

Still saving the rockers, the new scratches in the pic are from when I tried to squeeze the jeep in a tight spot:

I would really like a set of sliders like my JK has for my J10. They are frame mounted, and quite rigid.

Image

They are a slider and a step in one. And my Wife complains every single time she gets into my truck about wanting a step to make it easier. She is only 5ft 2in tall so its a chore for her to get into it. I also like sliders that stick out some to protect the body more in case you slide into something.

I think I could actually use a set of sliders for a JKU and modify the mounts (JK frames are stright, not angled like a J-Trucks). Would have to measure the length, the JKU ones should be very close. They have a 116" WB, my J10 is 119". Or heck TNT would probably mod the mounts for me if I asked them too.

Although it is far cheaper to build your own if you have the tools.

I REALLY like these stuka! I'm looking for something that has a step and would also save the rockers, and these would be awesome. If you go through with that idea, let me know how it goes. I might do the same :)

Yea, I might try to get my hands on some of those and modify the mounts as well as the step. I want something that will protect the bottom of my WT fenders. I LOVE the WT and I would be super pissed if I messed them up being stupid and trying an obstacle I know is to much for my truck. I'm thinking maybe I could weld an extension on that would go out just around the bottom edge of the fender. Or I could man up and pray I don't do screw them up. I guess there's always the fiberglass replacement, but its just not quite the same as the factory metal ones.

And thanks for the input guys. Its greatly appreciated :-bd

Mine have taken a beating and still work fine. 2"x6" 3/16th" rectangular tubing with some 1.75" OD DOM round tubing. Welded to the frame.

We've since removed the small pieces of plastic that were to insulate the supports from the pinch seam. We also added much needed triangular supports from the support bars up to the top of the mounting plates.
