Well for an update to my ride as it stands today....
Ran great like a scalded dog until it towed the dolly. I guess I will have to get into the motor to see what really happened, I am getting oil into my coolant but still have not over heated. Good news is that there is no coolant in the oil. It has had an exhaust leak and had oil seeping on the passenger side of the block. So now it is time to get cracking on repairs. The ironic thing is that I was just having a conversation with Rstep about driving it to Ouray I guess that that is now also on the back burner.
With out opening the engine best I can tell is head gasket at #6 exhaust port pumped the exhaust into the water journals and heated the water and blew out the over flow tank.

good thinking, but most of the ATF fluid that I have seen pumped into the water was a white color foam in the tank
and this is a med. brown color more like engine oil.

Gee, you have a problem. You need to change your maintenance program
Actually, it was right after I converted to auto. The three year old rad had a "cork" inside of the trans cooler that was sealed since new. I towed an SX4 home from near the CA border in OR on the hottest day of the year (drove down, changed it's tires and towed it back) Fluid was brand new when I left home. TOTALLY cooked before I got 1/2 way back. Wouldn't even go in reverse the next day. I changed fluid and went to add a bigger external cooler and discovered the "cork" when the fluid didn't drain from the cooler hoses when I unhooked and nothing came out.

From Star, or the Junk?
Ya know, that detail was not really discussed but now that you mention it...
That mushroom cloud was nothing more that a signal for rain . I was surprised how cool she was, now she walks by it in the driveway ans can call it junk again .

Before
After some work with a razor blade ( a couple dozens)
RStep saw this during the process and was impressed with my technique. Nothing special just some aircraft stripper, goobgone, razor blades and a whole bunch of elbow grease. I did spray it with rattle can primer to cover up the areas that I had to take down to bare metal.
As progress continues here is where it is.....
Completed a 4" spring list with some 5100 shocks. Runs pretty well just need some little stuff completed. Soon I will be replacing the interior with (dubya) my long term project. This way the family can all ride with seat belts and no ripped seats for a little while.
Thanks goes out to those that has parts on this rig or affected the positive progress so far, If I missed you it may just be one of my many brain farts so sorry in advance:
