For those interested in WW-II aircraft history here is another is a little known fact.
The first casualties of the Dec 7th 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor were civilians in civilian aircraft. Some were shot down by Zeros and of several others the wreckage was never found. One managed to land but the pilot died during a strafing attack.
