Should be an interesting build to watch.
I passed on one of those front 60's thinking it would be too much work for me.
A collection of 1966 to 1986 parts. Self Inflicted Flesh Wound
Caddy425/TH400/Atlas 4spd/14B/D60/locked front and rear/Hydroassist/39.5 Irocks (Join date = Friday the 13th)
I ain't done nothing lately. Been camping with the boy and now stuck in a hotel for the wk with work ( Did get a razor grille and headlights. I hate those square lights. Maybe get some work done after labor day wknd.
Got a little done this wknd. Welded the front suspension arm up an painted them. Also pulled the tranny out to make an adapter for the transfer case. Going to the machine shop this week to get some parts made for the adapter.
Also swapped out grilles.
Here are some pics.

talntar wrote:not familiar with the ford axles so forgive me.what is with the "sleave"on the long side?
For some reason each side had a caster difference of 9 deg. Everything was off including spring seats and link mounts. I cut the tube and rotated to correct the difference. The sleeve is for added strength.
Didn't get a whole lot done this wknd. Got one piece back from the machine shop for the tc adapter.
Cleaned up the tc and tranny and hit it with some paint.
Waiting on some more pieces from the machine shop and then I can get the tc adapter put together. Should have it early this week. Kinda excided to get this done. Won't be far from running after this.

Got something done today. Doesn't look like much but got it all tacked up. Since the tc was a divorce tc had to drill and tap holes for the adapter. Thanks to patoyee for the cad templates. Tomorrow I'll weld everything up.
Also got a master cylinder and hydro boost off a 06 ford f350. This should take any guess work out of which cylinder to use with the ford axles.

Stuka wrote:Will that MC work without the ABS computer?
Form my understanding the abs module goes after the mc. Therefore all computer related stuff is after the mc and the mc just supplies the pressure. Looking at the mc there isn't anything special about it except 2 sensors on it.
I got the tc put back together today. Took me longer than I thought but it was packed with 30 yrs of dirt and grease. I want to get it as clean as I could. Got the adapter all welded up and painted. Had to incorporate a bearing retainer and shaft seal on the inside so that took some time. It's all ready for intalkarion tommorrow. I do have to replace the rear main seal on the engine and put a new bushing on the fly wheel. It's gonna probably take all day to get it done. Here's some pics.

I got it all bolted into the jeep today. The back end is supported on a jack stand till I get the cross member made. No pics, looks the same as any other drivetrain from underneath. :ymparty:
