The Honcho rebuild thread.

Post by carnuck »

Finally dug into this beast the past couple days. Cleaned it up a bit (without running water, it's tough) Had to mess with the carb today (seized accelerator pump and crud in the carb from sitting) Belts aren't squealing now, but I lost a PS one. Lots of dents and dings to knock out/replace parts. I have doors with manual cranks to go on (don't care for power ones and the other doors are rust free)
I'm going to need a passenger's side M20 axle shaft soon (bearing went out on the PO when he had a heart attack and it ended up laying on it's side in the ditch)

After I bring it back to town, the 360/T18a/NP208 are being pulled (sold) and my 304 with AW4/? is going in.

Looking good! :D

If you ever want to unload the sportside fenders, let me know. My father in law used to work at a fiberglass shop, he might be able repro them. He still has all his specialty tools.

Tomorrow might be the day I get the cojones to drive it back from my cabin while towing the Comanche. If there is a breakdown the MJ can tow the Honcho too.

Hey Carnuck, I PM'd ya in response to your PM, but for some reason I don't think it went through. I am up for the trade.

360/trans are gone and I pick up the 304/AW4 flexplate soon (it's done but I have to get up to Arlington to get it) and I'll be dropping off the nailhead TH400 flexplate to be balanced for the 290 at the same time.
