gm alternator, anyone smarter than me.

Post by husker77 »

I've seen that some of you guys are pretty smart despite your choice in vehicles. So I thought maybe you could help me out.

The alternator in my son's 1986 s10 with the 2.8v6 went out, I want to install an ad244 alternator, but am curious on how little or much wiring I can get away with not installing.

Here is the plug of my kid's truck. It only has one wire in the I terminal.

And this is the plug of the alternator I want to install.

So does anyone know what I need to do to make this work? Sorry they all can't be fsjs.

Comp cam 270H

Built to drive not sit in the garage.

No longer strangled. I didn't build it for anyone else.
If you can't improve it why waste your time?

Thanks, I had found that but it seemed way to easy. I got it all working except finding a belt to fit, I was guessing based on the stock belt length and finally realized the smog pump had been removed and the belt is a lot shorter than stock. It may just so happen that a stock belt will actually work, that will be kind of nice.

I think I will do a swap like this on my jeep also, much better alternator than the cs series.
