any experienced HVAC techs here? need purchace advise

Post by Tripwire »

I want to replace my contractor special 80% 10 year old NPG furnace. in my 2,300 Sqft House

I can do the work myself as I have a gas permit and am electrical licensed.

I am looking at a Armstrong ~66K BTU downflow model, a high efficiency condensing modulating model with stainless innards.

the dude next door works in the business and recomends it as a "good" product - he says I can get one for about $1,400

Should I jump up a few BTU higher? and second is Armstrong a real good quality Mfr with good parts availability

can you PM me please if you have any input?

thanks !
