Post by AMC-COMMANDO »

I need to know how to test the in dash fuel gauge in my 1975 J20. Trying to figure out if it's bad or not. I plan to pull the cluster. Thanks!

Follow the instructions in section 1L of the 1982 TSM.

Very clear, better than we could do in this thread, and unchanged from 1975.

Look for 1L spec8f8cally looks like this

I did it after he showed me and turned out my gauge and wire is fine. My sending unit is bad i guess. Its still weird how tapping it got it to work one day lol but doing this procedure it jumped right to full so it must be working. And my sending unit is bad
