I have a 1986 GW with honey interior. I bought a cargo cover for it, but the plastic frame has faded. I’d like to try and paint it the original color. Does anyone have suggestions for this?
I completely recolored a car interior several years ago with SEM plastic paint. It was a complex process involving wet sanding, a pre-treatment, a primer, and a finish color. Results were excellent, but I have recently used Rustoleum 2X with great results. The label says it can be used on plastics as well as wood and metal and so far I really like the stuff. It lays smooth and even, and is available in some semi-gloss colors too. Walmart carries it and has the best array of colors. Lowes has some colors but not as much as Wally World. For something relatively small and not subject to abrasion, I would definitely try the Rustoleum.
