Creature comfort suggestions

Post by Phils67 »

Im looking for ideas to upgrade the "creature comforts" of my interior. Ive already added a dakota digital cluster, modern single din AM/FM/XM/CD with hands free calling, just ordered a Gentex 313 auto dim mirror with temp, compass, and homelink garage opener, and plan on building a custom console with flush mount GPS,CB radio, and whatever else i can think of. Anyone have any good ideasof things i could add? Suggestions?

Butt warmers would be at the top of my list. After that, a good A/C system. I'm pretty easy.

I completely agree. Now that I've had heated seats in a DD, I can't live without them!

Those will most likely happen when i get the seat recovered, both butt and back! AC is big money and a big project, although the compressor would be easy, i could bolt a sanden pump to that 4.0 in minutes.

Armrests if you drive distance. I drove a 300+ mile round trip a few summers ago and found the factory buddy-seat was too low and the stock armrest on the door was too small. My lower back was talking to me bigtime by the time I got home.

Ive got a bench seat in there which i plan on keeping so the only armrest i have are on the doors which are basically useless. Im headed to the local pick-n-pull when they open today to see what i can find for console/cupholder that would work with my bench. Im not opposed to going to a more modern 60/40 or 40/20/40 split bench if i can find something that actually fits and matches the honey(?...i think)door panels closely

Any direct fit seat setups you guys know of that look correct? Im not opposed to drilling holes and stuff like that.

If nobody is into super originality, some 4th gen Trans Am seats are the way to go for comfort imo. They are 8 way power with lumbar and side bolster adj.
To date, my lower back has not had a more comfortable seat for long drives-And this is in a solid axle muscle car. If you do snag some, there is a set of air lines that run across the floor tunnel between them. You'll need them. The pump for both seats is on the passenger seat base.
